We would like to introduce you to Chateau de Carolle and if you have not had the pleasure of its acquaintance, to the charming leafy historical suburb of Greenside.
Filled with cafés, galleries, shops, and restaurants as well as a vibrant cultural arts scene you are just steps away from the daily activities of a colourful suburb. Chateau de Carolle is a private home operated as a Non-Smoking B&B & we confess that we are biased, so will tell you that our B&B is a perfect base from which to work & explore from.
Chateau de Carolle has been transformed to its former elegance offering optimal independence, tranquillity & privacy in cottages & suites. We are repeatedly recommended for warm hospitality and spectacular comforts by regular returning corporate guests who enjoy the choice of either self-catering or a health breakfast at their convenience.
ACCOMMODATION
Luxury Self-Catering Cottages:
The spacious cottages are well secluded offering particular attention to décor by the owner-designer who has beautifully renovated & transformed her privately owned home to its former elegance of the 1940's.
With the use of warm rich colours of the Mediterranean, the interiors have a special character created with a harmonious blend of enchanting collectables, interesting art, Persian carpets and antique pieces. Together with ultimate modern day comforts this B&B has become home to many returning guest's who have an eye and appreciation for stylish decor and ease of comforts.
The cottages represent a truly unique expression of luxury with a selection of either twin, double, queen or king size beds which are made up with fine percale and Egyptian linen. Each bedroom is en-suite, stocked with goose down duvets, thick soft towels and quality toiletries. Double French doors lead onto surrounding paved courtyards, water features, herb gardens and surrounding patio's.
King Suite Cottage:
This spacious cottage opens onto two separate herb patio's through French doors for either early morning sunrise or evening sun-downers. The open plan lounge dining area is designed for indoor / outdoor entertaining. The placement of comfortable sleeper sofa's, arm chairs, coffee tables and TV add spacious charm. The kitchen is fully equipped from a 4-plate gas stove with oven and warming drawer, microwave, fridge / freezer, coffee machine, to toaster, kettle, etc. The large bedroom is fitted with a King-size bed en suite with bath / shower.
Double Garden Cottage or Queen Suite:
A charming double room with King size or twin beds en-suite with bath and separate walk-in shower. The kitchenette is equipped with fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and electric wok for the convenience of simple self-catering. French doors open onto a shaded paved courtyard garden.
Up the staircase, is another large inviting bedroom, with a queen-sized bed, and a cozy alcove in which an equipped kitchenette with microwave is found. The bathroom is en suite of our recently renovated Queen suite, installed with flat screen HD TV, satellite, DVD player, HiFi / CD player including surround sound.
Family Suite Cottage:
Our spacious family accommodation consists of two bedrooms and sleeps a maximum of eight people. The main bedroom connects with a twin room allowing the rooms to be configured as a two bedroom en suite unit. Additional comfortable sofa beds may be made up on request in the open plan lounge area. The kitchen is fully equipped kitchen with stove / oven, freezer / fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, utensils, cutlery and crockery.

More recommended restaurants can be enjoyed in the adjoining suburbs of Parkview, Parktown North and Parkhurst. Emmarentia Dam is down the hill from Greenside where one can watch water loving canoeists, kayakers and anglers, as well as small yachts from the banks of the Johanesburg Botanical Gardens which dates back to 1886 and covers an area of 81ha.
