Conveniently located just outside Pretoria and 45 minutes from Sandton, the estate is a superb destination that strikes a harmonious balance between sensory indulgence and luxurious hospitality. In May, we have been named winner for the second consecutive year of the 2010 AA travel Awards in the category ‘ Country Style retreat – Large’.

Accommodation

Having recently undergone extensive renovations to introduce 42 Executive rooms, Kievits Kroon is now home to 142 elegant rooms. In addition, a striking refurbishment of the existing Luxury rooms has been completed. All rooms depict the classic Cape Dutch style, but were given a clean-lined edge with the addition of materials such as aluminium, stone, glass and steel. The contemporary art works in the Executive rooms are created by the talented children from the local Leeuwfontein Primary school, part of Kievits Kroon’s CSI program and are for available for purchase. All proceeds will go directly back to Leeuwfontein Primary.

Conferences

Kievits Kroon has introduced a new conference experience, which is an extension of the hotel’s wellness theme and provides delegates with a unique experience that touches on the senses of light, sound, smell, taste and touch. Conference rooms are airy and bright with new upholstered chairs and light wooden tables. The conference centre is subtly enhanced by a signature combination of aromatherapy oils, the lingering scent is at once calming and uplifting, naturally encouraging positivity and creative thought. The Executive chef and his team have created a colourful array of sweet and savoury snacks that were specifically chosen for their high energy qualities, boosting metabolism and sustaining energy levels to maximise productivity throughout the day. 5 New conference rooms in the converted ‘Old Chapel’ now complete the conference facilities, with a total of 17 conference rooms hosting groups from 10 to 120 delegates.

Dining

The Estate’s excellent leisure offering includes the 50-seater signature restaurant ‘Granita’ and ’41 Library Bar’. Granita’s overall focus, including the furnishings and fresh food offering, is in line with Kievits Kroon’s comprehensive wellness strategy and the underlying theme of tranquillity and relaxation. A dazzling new dinner menu was introduced in May with classic dishes that have been given a modern twist. Complementing Granita’s superb food, are carefully selected wines from the Diamond Award winning wine list in the Diners Club International Wine List of the Year Awards in 2009.

The spa

As the seasons change, there’s no better time for a day of pampering at Kievits Kroon’s Wellness Spa. Tailor made treatments ensure guests leave feeling relaxed and revitalised. Designed to meet the best European standards, the spa boasts one of Gauteng’s most sophisticated thermae treatment facilities with steam rooms, saunas, Jacuzzis, Swiss showers and plunge pools. We offer a haven of calm that epitomises the holistic wellness associated with a stay at Kievits Kroon. Warm up tense muscles in the Jacuzzi and unwind in the sauna. The spa has a variety of treatments available to rejuvenate the mind, relax the body and soothe the soul.

The estate
