Hayward's Safari House Boekenhoutskloof
Elegantly appointed in simplistic safari style, the Hayward's Safari House is an ideal weekend getaway for those looking for peace and tranquility in a magnificent bush veld surrounding. The house is used as guests accommodations by the famous Hayward's Grand Safari Company that runs its various expeditions from this base into the hinterland.
Self Catering Accommodation
Its three bedrooms, two bathrooms (one with jacuzzi bath), recline lounge upstairs and fully equipped kitchen is ideal for private groups of six guests (three couples) and there is still space for kids.
The house overlooks the spring fed oasis on the reserve with great views all round of ancient river beds and clear night skies ideal for astronomy. There is no TV but National Geographic and Discovery Channel are right outside - in 3D! A mobile safari porta pool is supplied in summer months.
Our renowned Hayward's Spa treatments under canvass around the oasis are perfect for overstressed executives. A butler service can be arranged as can other staff such as barmen, cooks and cleaners at an extra fee if needed.
Location
Set within the 1500 hectare private game reserve of Bobbejaansberg, the area is renowned for prolific birdlife (over 350 species) and realistically safe for unguided walks as dangerous game such as hippo, buffalo, lion and elephant are not present.
Activities and Attractions
Horse trails through the reserve can be arranged to encounter giraffe, eland, kudu, wildebeest and variety of other small game as can hot air balloon flights, walking with lions, golf at nearby Pebble Rock Estate, bass fishing, clay pigeon shooting, photographic encounters, field guide training for kids and mountain biking trails (bring your own gear).
Other activities to do in the area are visiting the famous Cullinan Diamond Mine and tours (ideal for luncheons), tree top canopy trails and to tours to local world famous N'debele potters and crafters.
