Blue Roan Country Lodge Magaliesburg
Blue Roan Country Lodge, only 1 hours drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria and 30 minutes from Rustenburg, is situated on a tar road just 7 kms from the quaint town of Magaliesburg. Stay in one of 7 new and nicely decorated brick self-catering cottages (each sleeps two adults - no children), and admire the panoramic view of the Magaliesberg mountain range from the comfort of your private patio.
Accommodation
Each spacious unit has its own Jacuzzi bath, large shower, inside fireplace, private patio with braai, very comfortable patio furniture, TV (Mnet, Movie and sports channels), DVD player (we have a selection of DVDs that you can borrow) and fully equipped kitchenette with microwave, stove, full size refrigerator, hairdryer and all modern conveniences. There is a heater and a fan in each cottage, and all linen and towels are provided, as is washing up liquid and cloths and tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper. One unit has a double bed in the lounge for extra friends, and a queen bed in the bedroom. Two units have the Jacuzzi bath in the bedroom for extra romance and comfort.
Honeymoon suite
Attached to the side of the main lodge with separate entrance, private fenced garden, private patio and braai area and carport. Contains a queen-size bed, gigantic shower, jacuzzi bath and his and hers basins. Electric blanket and log fireplace for winter, and cool in summer. Fully equipped kitchenette. Very nicely decorated and very popular with couples. TV with full DStv and DVD player.
Bluebush
Has a king-size bed, Jacuzzi bath in the bedroom, large walk-in shower in the bathroom. TV (MNet, Movie and sports channels), DVD player, log fireplace, electric blanket etc.
Acacia
Has an extra length queen bed, Jacuzzi bath and shower in the bathroom and a sleeper couch in the lounge. TV (MNet, Movie and sports channels), DVD player, log fireplace, electric blanket etc. Generous patio with braai and a large fenced in garden for your social and well-behaved dog with walking trails on the farm itself just a few steps away.
The Barn
A new and unique unit sleeping two, decorated in the style of a barn with rich wood panelling and decorated with oak barrels. See the mountains from the raised king-size bed or watch TV (MNet, Movie and sports channels), on the reclining lounge chairs next to the log fireplace. The generous patio with comfortable furniture and braai with its view of the mountains is peaceful and relaxing. Large walk in shower and Jacuzzi bath and full kitchen. You will not want to leave. DVD player, log fireplace, electric blanket etc
The Tuscan Suite
New stylish unit with marble effects to give it the Tuscan feel. Raised king size bed on a platform, lovely Italian tiles on the floor, spacious kitchen with all the utensils and gadgets imaginable. Lie in bed and look out at the mountains or watch TV (MNet, movies and all sports channels) or DVDs from the bed or lounge. Bathroom is enormous with sunlight streaming in from two large skylights as you enjoy your relaxing jacuzzi bath or stand in comfort in a huge open shower. Lovely large patio with braai looking straight out at the mountains.
The Mexican Loft
New unit with a private enclosed garden for your dog or just for you. Spacious, bright and colourful with touches of Mexico. Bathroom is huge and contains a massive shower that takes up half the room. The jacuzzi bath is in the area with the king size bed. The kitchen is big and fully equipped with everything you can think of. The patio with its braai and Mexican chiminea is fun for winter or summer. TV (MNet, movies and all sports channels), DVD player, log fireplace, electric blanket etc.
The Greek Villa
Our newest unit is splendid with it blue and white colour sheme. Top class furniture and fittings and huge patio with built in braai and fireplace. The lounge also has a log fireplace and lovely comfortable sofa and DStv and DVD player. The spa bath/jacuzzi is in a room of its own and decorated with candles. A large walk-in shower in the bathroom and extra length queen bed in the bedroom. The kitchen is very well equipped and beautifully tiled throughout.
Facilities
The Blue Roan (so named after the black and white spaniel that we breed) is characterized by rolling green lawns and lovely gardens. There is a spacious lapa with cooking facilities next to a stunning rock swimming pool. In the bar (dry bar - bring your own) there are games including a pool table and darts as well as collection of DVDs and music CDs which can be borrowed.
Attractions & Activities
The Blue Roan is conveniently situated for sightseeing, as we are on a tar road within easy reach of the Cradle of Humankind. There are many restaurants close by and we provide maps and suggestions for activies and places of interest. It is the ideal place for those wanting peace and quiet away from children and people and looking for that quiet time to recharge their batteries or just be romantic with a loved one. There are walking trails on the farm as well as longer walks on neighbouring farms.
If you want to wake up to a view of mountains and feel as if you are alone on a lovely farm, then Blue Roan Country Lodge is the place for you.
