Built in 1903 for Mr. Heyes of Melrose House fame, Birdwood is one of the oldest remaining manor homes. Nestled in the hills surrounding Pretoria, the suburb of Hatfield provides a refuge from the urban hustle of the capital. The doors of Birdwood Guest House are open to discerning travellers seeking a home from home in the classic style. Soaring moulded ceilings, period wooden doors and windows, stained glass, antique furniture and an imposing staircase give the charming Birdwood interior a warm glow; all of which is jealously protected and pampered by the Birdwood Team.

Every en-suite bedroom is individually designed and decorated to suit the classical style of the period; some of them situated around the pool in the lush estate gardens surrounding the old Manor House. All are equipped with aircon, under-floor heating, lockup safe satellite TV with video channel, laundry service, telephone, fax and e-mail facilities, mobile phone rentals are available.
