Amakoekoe Guest Lodge Honeydew
Amakoekoe Guest Lodge and Conference venue is located in Honeydew in the north-western suburbs of Johannesburg. The owners André and Sanet Koekemoer officially opened the guest house in August 2002, naming it "Amakoekoe" as an amusing play on their surname Koekemoer" interpreted as "ama" meaning "the" and "koekoe" as an abbreviation of "Koekemoer".
We have also received a Superior classification by the AA Quality Assured Programme, and we were finalists in the 2004 AA Accommodation Awards. The four star graded guest lodge is surrounded by carefully maintained, vibrant gardens.

Koekoe Art
Inspiring Art and Craft workshops are presented at Amakoekoe, so book now and prepare to release your inner artist! Koekoe Art was established in August 2007, by Sanet Koekemoer, co-owner of Amakoekoe Guest Lodge. Being a full time musician, playing for the various symphony orchestras in Johannesburg, Gauteng, she uses her free time to create paintings and ceramics, seen throughout the lodge. All the units were decorated by herself.
She recently joined forces with three other artists, and together under the name Archaise Art, they offer unique works of art in various media. The group consists of Rika Herbst (glass and ceramics); Caroline Janse van Rensburg (water colours and ceramics); Toni Heili (ceramics and Africa beading) and Sanet Koekemoer (ceramics, oil paintings combined with ceramics etc.)
